Welcome to Christian Discipleship Class!
We are going to delve into the theology behind Christian discipleship and the profound implications it holds for how we ought to live in this world. As Christ himself affirms, we are in this world but not of it. This distinction is vital in shaping our values, principles, and actions as followers of Christ. It calls us to be engaged in the world, to spread love and kindness, to seek justice and peace, and to be a source of hope and compassion. At the same time, it urges us to resist being consumed by worldly temptations and negativities, to stand firm in our faith, and to uphold spiritual and moral integrity in all aspects of our lives. This tension between inhabiting the world and yet transcending its influence is a central theme in Christian discipleship, and it prompts us to constantly examine our attitudes, choices, and relationships in light of the timeless teachings of Christ.
