Kathmandu Center for Christian Studies (KCCS) exists to tackle the current issues that are challenging and relevant to Nepalese Christians. The aching heart seeks consolation. Cries of our hearts demand answers to the agony of our lives. Doubting minds seek assurance. Broken lives need hope. Unforgiven souls long for grace and rest. And we live in a broken world with these real issues. We simply cannot avoid them. Jesus is the ultimate answer to all of our existential and intellectual questions and needs.
Belief, cultural, and political ideas influence one’s thinking and behavior. Ideas have consequences. Our faith is challenged every moment we walk outside our comfort zone- may that be our house or a circle of friends or coworkers. We are called to be a witness of Jesus Christ. We take on these challenges prayerfully and graciously and address them truthfully and in-depth.
The KCCS is committed to the great commission of Jesus Christ. We are commanded to set Jesus Christ apart as our Lord and Savior and give the reason for the hope we have (1 Peter 3:15). God needs no defending. It is in regard to the defense of our faith, we give reasons to help the genuine seekers and the doubters have the confidence to put their trust in God. By doing so, we share the same hope with those who come in contact with us.
With this conviction, we invest our prayer, time, and effort to help the believers better understand and rooted in their faith in Jesus Christ. When they are faced with doubts and challenges from the outer worldview, they will be able to stand firm in their faith knowing that the God of the Bible is true. It is our goal to reach out to people with the message of reconciliation with God who forgives our sins and saves us from ourselves (2 Corinthians 5:20). We train and prepare the lay people to stand firm in the Biblical foundation and herald Jesus Christ with the same conviction that we share every day in our walk with the Lord.
