Biblical Nuggets: Church Government

We can see different kinds of church traditions and governance in the churches.  There are three primary forms of Church Government.

1. Hierarchical: In this category, church is ruled by a sacred leader. The ultimate authority of the church resides on the highest (top) authority. Eastern Orthodoxy has the same ruling.

2. Congregational: Church is ruled by congregation. It is a form of autonomous congregation where major decisions will be taken by the congregation. Active participation is encouraged in the decision-making issues.

3. Presbyterian: Presbyters or elders rule the church. They are chosen individuals by the congregation.
